🌾 Flagship Pioneering launched Terrana Biosciences, a US-based agtech startup backed by an initial $50 million investment, to develop RNA-based crop protection and enhancement technologies that improve plant resilience, reduce reliance on chemical inputs, and help agriculture adapt to climate change.

🤖 Ag robotics startup 4AG Robotics, based in Canada, raised CAD 40 million in a Series B funding round led by Astanor and Cibus Capital, with participation from Voyager Capital, InBC, Emmertech, BDC Industrial Innovation Fund, Jim Richardson Family Office, and Stray Dog Capital, to scale production and deployment of its autonomous mushroom harvesting robots.

🧬 Dutch biotech Solynta secured €20 million in venture debt financing from the European Investment Bank to advance its non-GMO hybrid breeding technology for developing disease-resistant, climate-resilient potato varieties cultivated from true seeds instead of traditional tubers.

🍗 Quorn, owned by Monde Nissin through Marlow Foods, secured an £18 million investment via a new share issuance to support debt reduction and brand revitalisation under its new CEO, as part of a broader turnaround strategy following significant losses and declining market share.

🌾 California-based agricultural biotech firm BioConsortia raised $15 million in a funding round led by Otter Capital and affiliated funds to scale up and commercialise its nitrogen-fixing corn seed treatment, Always-N™.

🇨🇦 Canadian biotech Mara Renewables secured $9.1 million from S2G Investments to expand its sustainable omega-3 platform and scale its fish-free, algae-based nutrition solutions for the global human and animal health markets.

🍫 UK-based Win-Win raised £3 million in a Series A funding round backed by investors including the Oetker Collection, Foodlabs, Mustard Seed Maze, Gota Ventures, Paulig, and Kapital. It will use the funds to accelerate growth of its cocoa-free chocolate alternatives and support entry into major European markets.

🧫 Czech startup Mewery secured €2.9 million in public funding, primarily from Horizon Europe’s EIC Accelerator and supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and CzechInvest, to scale production of its cultivated pork and launch pilot projects with European meat producers.

☕️ Awake Chocolate, based in Toronto and maker of functional caffeinated chocolate bites and bars, raised C$8 million in a funding round led by Btomorrow Ventures and BDC Capital to further expand its operations.

🇦🇺 Eclipse Ingredients, based in Australia, secured $7 million to scale its precision fermentation platform for producing human lactoferrin, with plans to launch its first product by 2027.

🍫 UK-based Win-Win raised £3 million in a Series A funding round backed by investors including the Oetker Collection, Foodlabs, Mustard Seed Maze, Gota Ventures and Paulig. 🧫 Israeli startup Algocell secured $2.8 million pre-seed funding, in a round led by Good Company VC with support from the Israel Innovation Authority and sector-specific angel investors. It will use the funds to advance its AI-powered Digital Twin platform for optimising bioprocesses in industries like cultivated meat, precision fermentation, biofuels, and cosmetics.

🇬🇧 Better Nature, which produces clean-label tempeh products and is based in the UK, secured €1.2 million to scale sales, marketing, and product innovation following a 128% sales increase and rapid growth in the UK and German markets.

🇦🇷 Argentina-based ag biologicals startup Puna Bio closed its Series A funding round with new backing from the Gates Foundation, which joined earlier investors Corteva Catalyst and At One Ventures to help the company expand globally and develop climate-resilient crop solutions using extremophile-based seed treatments.

💦 Cosma, based in France, uses autonomous underwater robots to map deep-sea ecosystems. It raised €2.5 million in a round led by WIND and Ternel with participation from 50 Partners, Caisse d’Épargne Côte d’Azur, and IFREMER, to scale its drone fleet, enhance its AI platform, and expand across Europe.

🔥 Swedish deeptech wildlife intelligence startup Flox raised an oversubscribed $1 million seed round led by Unconventional Ventures, with participation from Norrsken Accelerate, Almi Invest, E14 Invest, Argand Partners, and angel investors, to commercialise its AI-powered wildlife deterrence system and expand into the US market.

Carbon x Climate

🌫️ Switzerland-based Climeworks, a global leader in Direct Air Capture technology, raised $162 million in equity funding, marking the largest carbon removal investment of 2025 so far. The round was led by BigPoint Holding and Partners Group, with continued support from existing investors, and it will use the funds to scale its carbon removal portfolio and drive down the cost of high-quality engineered removals.

💨 French startup KERYS Software raised €6.2 million in pre-seed funding from Daphni, Seedcamp, Backtrace, Kima Ventures, and angel investors to scale its secure IT infrastructure virtualisation platforms, which cut costs, reduce idle hardware use, and lower carbon emissions by minimising the number of physical devices needed.

⚗️ German chemical startup CYNiO raised over €2 million from bmp Ventures (via the IBG Innovation Fund) and TGFS Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen to scale its phosgene-free, CO₂-based isocyanate production technology and expand its product portfolio for the European market.

🧪 Gent-based biotech startup AmphiStar secured €12.5 million in blended funding, comprising a €2.5 million grant and €10 million equity investment, from the European Innovation Council to scale up production and commercialisation of its upcycled, microbial biosurfactants as sustainable alternatives to synthetic surfactants for home and personal care markets.

🧱 Terra CO2, based in the US, raised $124.5 million Series B funding. The round was co-led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Eagle Materials, GenZero, and Just Climate, with participation from Barclays Climate Ventures, Cemex, Prologis, and Siemens Financial Services, and it will use the funds to scale production of its low-carbon cement alternative that cuts CO2 emissions by 70% and can replace up to 40% of traditional Portland cement.

🤖 US-based Bedrock Robotics, which is developing retrofit self-driving kits for construction vehicles, emerged from stealth with $80 million raised in a round led by Eclipse and 8VC, and is currently testing its technology across four states with major construction partners.

☀️ British solar energy startup Sunsave secured £113 million - comprising a £13 million Series A equity round co-led by Norrsken VC and IPGL, and a £100 million debt facility from Crédit Agricole CIB - to expand its subscription-based solar and battery service aimed at making clean home energy more affordable and accessible across the UK.

💰 Tallinn-based renewable energy provider Sunly raised nearly €85 million in financing from the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and SEB to build four large-scale solar parks in Latvia with a total capacity of 329 MW.

⛴️ US startup Amogy secured $80 million in a funding round led by Korea Development Bank and KDB Silicon Valley LLC, with participation from BonAngels Venture Partners, JB Investment, and Pathway Investment, to scale its ammonia-to-power technology for applications in shipping, power plants, and data centers.

🌡️ Germany’s largest heat pump installer, thermondo, secured €50 million in special purpose vehicle financing to expand its flex financing program, enabling around 1,600 homeowners across the country to install heat pumps through affordable monthly instalments

🔋 Amsterdam-based Dexter Energy closed its Series C funding round with €23 million. The round was led by Alantra’s Klima fund, with participation from Mirova and existing investors ETF Partners, Newion, and PDENH, and it will use the funds to expand its AI-powered forecasting and trade optimisation platform for wind, solar, and battery assets across Europe.

⚡️ Milan-based Tulum Energy, which is developing scalable clean hydrogen solutions for heavy industry, raised €22.9 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round co-led by TDK Ventures and CDP Venture Capital, with participation from Doral Energy-Tech Ventures, MITO Tech Ventures, and TechEnergy Ventures.

🇫🇷 French startup Arago secured €22.1 million seed funding. The round was co-led by Earlybird, Protagonist, and Visionaries Tomorrow, with participation from Generative IQ, C4 Ventures, and will be used to accelerate the commercialisation of its ultra energy-efficient photonic AI chip.

🔌 British deeptech company AssetCool raised £10 million in a Series A round led by Energy Impact Partners, with participation from Extantia Capital, Taronga Group, Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, Kero Development Partners, and Northern Gritstone, to scale its advanced robotics and nanomaterial coatings that boost overhead power line capacity by up to 30% and address global grid congestion challenges.

🤖 Poland-based underwater robotics company SR Robotics raised over €8.4 million from Vinci to expand its AI-powered robotic fleet via a Robot-as-a-Service model, designed to enhance energy security by safeguarding critical underwater infrastructure and supporting maritime operations.

💡 London-based Fuse Energy raised £7.4 million in a funding round led by existing investors Balderton Capital and Lowercarbon Capital to support its expansion into the UK gas market alongside its core low-carbon electricity offering.

🌞 Solar panel company Solarock, based in France, secured €7 million in a funding round backed by Pale Blue Dot, Noa, Ring Capital, and Kima Ventures to scale its profitable, ultra-local franchise model for residential and SME solar solutions and enhance its R&D in smart energy monitoring and storage technologies.

⚡️ Netherlands-based Tibo Energy secured €6 million in a seed funding round led by KOMPAS VC with participation from Hitachi Ventures, WEPA Ventures, SET Ventures, and Speedinvest. It will use the funds to expand its AI-powered Energy Management System for industrial sites across Europe, helping businesses overcome grid congestion and optimise local energy use without costly infrastructure upgrades.

🏘️ Germany-based energy startup ALVA Energie raised over €5 million in its first funding round - led by Triodos Bank, Württembergische Energie GmbH, Brandenburg Kapital GmbH, better ventures, and the European Social Innovation and Impact Fund - to scale its vertically integrated, decentralised landlord-to-tenant electricity solutions across the German real estate sector.

🔋 Crosstown, based in Zurich, raised an additional $3.75 million in seed funding—led by 2100Ventures, Climate Insiders, Unruly Capital, SDAC, and supported by CiRi, Voyagers, and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy.

🔧 Detroit-based startup Pearl Edison secured $3.3 million seed funding. The round was led by New System Ventures and Commonweal Ventures, with participation from Lightbank and Newlab, and it will use the funds to scale its utility-partnered platform that streamlines home energy retrofits like heat pumps and insulation by using data-driven pricing and guaranteed installation services.

💥 UK-based RheEnergise secured a €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council Accelerator to advance its High‑Density Hydro energy storage technology, which enables long-duration electricity storage using non-corrosive fluid and low-elevation sites.

❄️ YPlasma, spun out of Spain’s space agency INTA, raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round led by Faber with participation from SOSV to advance its ultra-efficient, flexible plasma actuators for cooling electronics and de-icing wind turbines.

💸 German energy intelligence startup avoltra raised €2.3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Project A, with participation from CDTM Venture Fund and angel investors, to advance its AI-powered energy procurement platform.

💡 LumenStream, based in Belfast, raised £1.2 million in a funding round led by a local angel syndicate, with major backing from Co Fund III (managed by Clarendon Fund Managers) and Techstart Ventures, to scale its zero-upfront-cost smart lighting solutions.

📈 UK-based Kondor, which uses AI agents to optimise industrial energy efficiency and decarbonisation, secured pre-seed funding from Deep Science Ventures and an international strategic energy investor to advance real-world pilots and expand within the midstream and upstream energy sectors.

🔢 Germany’s Tanso, which provides an AI-powered environmental management and compliance platform for industrial companies, raised €12 million in a Series A funding round led by henQ and Fortino Capital, with participation from Capnamic and UVC Partners, to further expand its operations.

📊 UK-based environmental monitoring company WATR secured growth capital from 24Haymarket to accelerate international expansion and enhance its real-time water and soil quality data platform.

💰 Dutch biotech valorisation programme Biotech Booster secured €196.4 million from the National Growth Fund, ensuring its continuation until 2032 to accelerate the commercialisation of innovations such as biodegradable seed coatings, mushroom fungi for water purification, and new medicines.

💸 Omnes Capital, a French private equity firm focused on energy transition and innovation, announced the €112 million first close of its second DeepTech fund, Omnes Real Tech 2, to support early-stage European DeepTech companies in sectors like defense, AI, space, and quantum technologies.

💶 Leipzig-based Smart Infrastructure Ventures launched its second fund, SIVentures II, with €30 million to invest in early-stage B2B startups in AI, IT infrastructure, and energy across the DACH region.

⛏️ New Jersey-based startup Still Bright raised an $18.7 million seed funding round led by Material Impact and Breakthrough Energy Ventures, with participation from Azolla Ventures, Fortescue, Impact Science Ventures, and SOSV, to scale its vanadium-based copper extraction technology that enables cleaner, more efficient recovery from ore and mine waste.

👗 France’s Everdye raised €15 million in a Series A funding round led by Crédit Mutuel Innovation, with participation from daphni, Ring Capital, EIC Fund, 212 Next, Asterion Ventures, and Maki.vc, to scale its bio-based, low-energy textile dyeing technology.

📦 AlterEco Pulp, a Rome-based startup developing eco-sustainable packaging from plant-based and agricultural by-product fibres, secured €3.5 million in a seed funding round led by Eureka! Fund I – Technology Transfer, with participation from AZIMUT ELTIF – Venture Capital ALIcrowd III & IV, Open Venture, and CDP Venture Capital.

🪡 Fiber Elements, an Austrian startup developing automated basalt fibre manufacturing technology for sustainable construction, secured €2.6 million in seed funding. The round was led by LEA Partners and the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, and it will use the funds to scale production, expand its team, and commercialise its low-carbon, high-performance alternative to steel-reinforced concrete.

🪨 Italy-based rare elements recycling startup RarEarth raised €2.6 million in a round led by Primo Capital’s Primo Climate fund and co-led by MITO Tech Ventures, with participation from Corbites Fund, Vento Ventures, and COREangels Climate, to build Italy’s first plant producing high-performance NdFeB magnets from e-waste.

🔋 Estonian deeptech startup Jälle Technologies raised €2 million in pre-seed funding, backed by Enterprise Estonia, the Environmental Investment Centre, Kiilto Ventures, 2C Ventures, and angel investors, to scale its proprietary technology for recycling lithium-ion batteries and upcycling graphite waste into high-value graphene-like materials.

🚘 Ultra-fast EV charging startup Electra, based in Paris, secured a €433 million green loan facility from a group of banks and financial partners to accelerate its European expansion, scale its intelligent charging infrastructure, and support its goal of deploying 15,000 high-power charging points by 2030.

🚗 The UK Department for Transport announced a £63 million investment to expand electric vehicle infrastructure, including £25 million for local authorities to support at-home charging for households without driveways, £8 million to help transition NHS fleets to EVs, and funding for business depot chargepoints, aiming to install 100,000 new public chargers nationwide.

📦 London-based HIVED, an AI-powered, all-electric parcel delivery startup, secured $42 million in a Series B funding round led by NordicNinja with participation from Wex Venture Capital, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, Elemental Impact, Yamato Holdings, Future Back Ventures, Rocketship VC, and existing investor Planet A, to expand across the UK and enhance its proprietary logistics platform.

🛵 Finnish e-mobility startup Donut Lab raised €25 million seed funding to scale its modular EV platform and five-motor lineup, with support from investors including former Nokia Chairman Risto Siilasmaa.

⚙️ Israeli eVTOL startup AIR secured $23 million in a Series A funding round led by Entrée Capital to scale production of its shared-architecture piloted and uncrewed aircraft for personal, logistics, and defence use, and to expand into the US market.

⛴️ Switzerland-based MobyFly raised CHF 10.1 million in a Series A funding round led by Fonds Révolution Environnementale et Solidaire and Crédit Mutuel Impact to scale its zero-emission electric hydrofoil ferry technology.

🚛 Nevoya, which uses AI to optimise all-electric trucking services for Fortune 500 companies and is based in LA, raised a $9.3 million seed funding round led by Lowercarbon Capital with participation from Floating Point, LMNT Ventures, Third Sphere, Stepchange, Never Lift, and Applied Intuition CEO Qasar Younis to expand into new markets like Texas.

🚲 Estonian mobility company Vok Bikes raised a $6 million Series A round led by SQM Lithium Ventures with participation from Metaplanet, Specialist VC, Sunly, and Estonia’s state-backed SmartCap. It will use the funds to expand its electric cargo bike operations across Europe and accelerate the shift from vans to sustainable urban logistics.

🚢 Nautica Technologies, based in Switzerland, raised $4 million in a round led by b2venture, with participation from Partners in Clime, Prequel Ventures, Rethink Ventures, and sector-focused angel investors. It will use the funds to commercialise its autonomous underwater robots that sustainably prevent biofouling by continuously cleaning ship hulls—cutting fuel consumption by up to 35%, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and limiting the spread of invasive species in marine ecosystems.

🚕 Milan-based startup Maxi Mobility, which offers an electric fleet-as-a-service solution for professional drivers, raised €1.2 million in a funding round led by UniCredit Bank and Motor Valley Accelerator, with support from Plug and Play Tech Center, Fondazione di Modena, angel investors, and its founding team, to expand its operations in Italy and accelerate the adoption of zero-emission urban mobility.
